YouTube is launching new AI tools, here’s what we know so far

Updated: Nov 12, 2023

YouTube dropped some big news on their blog recently: (https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/made-on-youtube-2023/)

They have prepared new AI tools for content creators, and this is what we’re going to explore in this article. Please note, those tools are still a work in progress and are not available worldwide yet. The YouTube Create app is available on Android for now, and only in the US, Germany, France, UK, Indonesia, India, Korea and Singapore.

There’s 4 new tools that have already been released or announced. AI insights for research, Audio Research, Dubbing tool, and Dream Screen.

AI Insights: This tool, available directly in YouTube studio, allows you to research your existing ideas or get new ideas based on what’s trending and market analysis. You can search for places, keywords, niche, and more.

Audio Research: It allows you to describe the type of music or sound you’re looking for, in a text format. For example you can search for “dramatic violin music for action film” and YouTube will find the best track for it! Of course, as this is prompt based, you will need a bit of practice to be able to find exactly what you want.

Dubbing Tool: This one is still a work in progress, but the goal is to allow your content to be automatically translated and dubbed, with the help of AI. This will help content creators reach a wider audience.

Dream Screen: This one is probably the most useful for content creators. It allows you to input a text describing what you want for the background of your video, and Dream Screen will generate that for you. No more struggling with a green screen or low quality filters and effects.

The mobile app

YouTube Create was released in selected regions by Google LLC and it’s only available on Android for now.

What is it exactly? It’s a video editing tool that works for Shorts and for longer videos as well (so we expect it to accept horizontal and vertical videos). It is mainly a video editor that looks a lot like the video editing tool of TikTok. The promised features include:

  • Access to royalty free songs (this means you can monetize what you create with the library that YouTube offers)

  • Access to a transition library to make your editing smoother

  • Access to filters and effects to enhance your videos

  • A caption generation tool, that will recognize your speech and turn it into captions

  • A connection to your YouTube account for faster upload, so no need to render, export, and upload from another device.

As we mentioned earlier, those tools were released in limited markets and may come with new features in the future, so things will change rapidly, and we’ll update you!
