How to create landing page content for your services or products with ChatGPT
Introduction
Creating a good converting landing page for your product or services can be long and exhausting, but now you have ChatGPT to thank for saving you time and efforts. In this article, we will dive into what you need to do within ChatGPT to gain considerable help to create your landing page content.
1) Brainstorming what you need
First, if you’re not that familiar with landing pages and what they should contain, you can ask ChatGPT to brainstorm that for you. You can use this prompt:
Please describe every element that should be on a landing page for a product or service, think of everything. Remember that my (product/service) is about (describe your product and your general expertise). Add any relevant tips that apply to my niche.
ChatGPT will produce a solid list of everything you need to work on, like headline, sub-headline, image, call to action, features description, and more. We will generate a to-do list later, so don’t worry about taking down notes.
Once you read through what ChatGPT suggested and made sure that everything looks right, we can move on to the list.
2) Creating a to do list
In order to get a to-do list, you can simply use a follow up prompt like this one:
Can you create a complete to do list to make sure I don't forget any task related to every element you mentioned?
The goal here is to break down the tasks to make sure you’re not discouraged by the amount of work to do. Once you have a to-do list, go through it to make sure you’re good with it. If you need, go learn about some concepts you’re not sure about or take online courses to make sure you’re ready to design your landing page.
3) Generating the core content
Now that you have a list, the next step is to do your research, of course, and then ask GPT to help you one point at a time. Let’s take an example from my session with ChatGPT, please note I shortened ChatGPT’s response (context: I need to create a landing page to convince people to buy my online courses)
My prompt: Please describe every element that should be on a landing page for a product or service, think of everything. Remember my niche: I am an online instructor on Udemy and need to convert visits into paid students.
GPT: Certainly! Designing an effective landing page for your online instructor profile on Udemy is crucial for converting visitors into paid students. Here's a comprehensive list of elements you should consider including:
Clear Headline: Use a concise and compelling headline that communicates the value of your course.
Subheading: Provide a brief subheading that expands on the headline,
Hero Image/Video: Include a high-quality image or video that showcases you or a preview of your course.
Course Overview: Briefly describe what your course is about, its key features, and what students will learn.
Call-to-Action (CTA) Button: Place a prominent CTA button above the fold.
Testimonials: Feature positive testimonials or reviews from previous students.
Instructor Bio
Course price
Reassurance for potential buyers
FAQ Section: Address common questions potential students might have. This can save them time and reduce barriers to enrollment.
Scarcity/Urgency
So this is our brainstorming list. Afterwards, I will use the prompt to generate the to-do list. Just for the example, I will take 3 items from the list and show you how to generate content for it. Of course, you’ll have to generate content for each point mentioned in the list. If AI cannot generate the content for you, simply ask how ChatGPT can help and what steps you need to take. Here’s 3 items from my to-do list and how I’d work through them:
“Define Your Target Audience:
Identify the specific audience you want to target with your course.”
For this, I need to look through data I have about my students. Which country are they from? What’s their age range? Once I feed this data to ChatGPT, I can start working on defining my target audience with GPT.
You may not need ChatGPT for this, but you can use it to make sure you didn’t forget anything, or get suggestions based on your existing audience or buyer persona.
You can simply ask “how do I define my target audience for (describe your product and service)?” and start from there.
“Craft a Compelling Headline and Subheading:
Brainstorm and create a headline and subheading that clearly convey the value of your course.”
This requires basic copywriting knowledge to grab the attention of the visitor.
Make sure you know the features/benefits of your product/service to highlight them
You can ask ChatGPT to generate headlines and subheadings for you.
“Select High-Quality Hero Image/Video:
Choose or create a visually appealing image or video that represents your course effectively.”
Well, ChatGPT can’t create images, but you can ask for ideas for your design.
You can also ask where to find copyright-free images, image generation tools, or to create prompts for text to image AI tools like Bing Create.
Once you have a better idea for your picture or video, you can start designing it for free on Canva or use free editing tools online or on your computer (eg: ClipChamp is installed on Windows devices and exports in HD).
If you feel like shooting a promo video, make sure you ask ChatGPT for help with the same steps: brainstorming, to-do list and additional follow up prompts for each point generated.
So, now it’s your turn to go through each item and think about how ChatGPT can help. Sometimes ChatGPT can help directly, sometimes it will need data from you, and sometimes ChatGPT can only provide ideas and feedback but not do the core work.
4) Conclusion
Once you have all the content you need in text form, you can practice setting up your landing page through the landing page tool you are planning to use. You can practice on sites like Wix and Wordpress for free. There are some online tools that are made just to generate landing pages and connect them to your website. Make sure you explore all your options to optimize and adapt your landing page as best as possible.
